Be with birth.

Feeling ready for the next big shift. When I went on mat leave, 18 months back, I knew I wasn't going back to that job, but I had no idea that a lifetime of limiting beliefs would be silenced, and a new, more purposeful path revealed. I learned that I am here, in this life, to support, empower, and educate, birthing folks, parents, and families. I am the vessel in which knowledge and wisdom flow into community, where they belong.... And next week, I start a new job in Maternal Child Health... PINCH ME!! I have alot of learning ahead but it feels less like 'becoming' something new, and more like 'returning' to who I've always been. Wish me luck....

In her podcast episode "Lessons On Life, Through Birth", Jessica Austin says "Things don't have to be easy to be possible. You're aloud to not love every moment, you're aloud to show you're struggling. You're aloud to cry, to complain, to protest. It doesn't mean you can't. Making things look easy isn't the only way to do them, isn't the only way to make things worth doing, isn't the only way to make you powerful."

As I sit here, piecing together content for the future @bewithbirth Childbirth Education classes, I am overwhelmed by the fact that I’m here, in this moment, doing this work. The journey to becoming a Birth and Postpartum Doula, and now a Childbirth Educator, has stripped down the veil between who I was and who I’m becoming. I’m scared as hell AND I’m going for it! The Childbirth Education program that I’m creating combines the wisdom I gained from the incredible teachers I r...elated to on this path, with evidence-based obstetrical research, and focuses on empowering birthing people to understand their bodies, know all their options, reclaim their birthing power, and ultimately BE WITH the most transformational experience of their lives. I believe this knowledge is a human right, and I am honored to be the vessel in which it flows into the consciousness of community, where it belongs. More soon <3
