Do you find yourself going through this dialogue in your head: If only I had _______, then I could _________ If only he would ______, then we could ______... We seek answers outside of ourselves and wonder why we feel stuck. We are all waiting on the world to change when we all need to BE the change. I am guilty of this hearing my self say this just the other day I’m tired of waiting to start Living. Hear me out....I know COVID has thrown a giant F’ing Screw into our lives, but we are letting our fears control us and dumping the responsibility of our happiness on others, or, in this case a bloody pandemic. When I feel myself slipping into excuses, I go back to my yoga mat, I meditate, I get out for a walk. The only way out is to go in. You are the only one that can take your own first step. If you’re feeling stuck, let’s have a chat. In addition to being a registered yoga teacher, with a specialty in Yoga Psychology, I facilitate coaching every day as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources.

My Yoga story. Yoga didn’t come from a deeply engrained dharma to serve and make the world a better place. It can from a very broken fragmented place of a lost soul. I was in the depths of a marriage that was falling apart but seldom few knew. I managed to hide it, but I desperately knew I needed an outlet. A fusion class listed at my local community centre seemed like just the thing to blow off some steam. What I wasn’t expecting was a spiritual hippie at heart teacher, de...eply rooted in yogic tradition. I didn’t realize that first class when she told me to find my Drishti (focal point), that it would change the trajectory of my life. Five years later my Drishti had got me through a divorce and into a new job but my health suffered. Bouts of unexplained pain, tests that came back negative, trips to the hospital, scans and more tests only to be told there’s nothing wrong. And to top off a crap couple of years I contracted Whooping cough, then pneumonia, the cherry on top a hysterectomy. Looking back it truly was a cherry. They discovered an advanced case of Endometriosis. A diagnosis!!! And treatment!!!With surgery, change in diet and a deep dive into yoga, I discovered a whole world of wholistic health. Through my yoga teacher training in 2017, I began to realize that the physical practice was just the means to discover a deeper, more spiritual practice, self discovery and deep healing. At this point my daughters began to go through some of their own health issues, anemia, depression, suspected endometriosis, anxiety and some pretty severe Mental health crises. Through everything yoga has been the solid foundation I have used to not only get through my own issues but help others to come through their dark days. Since then I have received a Certificate in Natural Nutrition and a certificate in Yoga Psychology. I still have flare ups with my own health and I still have a lot of baggage to work through, but never have I had to be on medication. I AM A WORK IN PROGRESS But, I know no matter what obstacle comes my way I have a tool to help me through. Yoga has given me strength and a new purpose in life and I hope my story and my teachings can help others over life’s hurdles. Beccy Jackson, CHRP, RYT 200 BexYoga

I’ve been through my fair share of mud and every time I learned a lesson. It takes effort and a first step to pull yourself out, clean yourself up and choose a new path. The lotus only grows in muddy water. In the tough times there is beauty just waiting to break through the surface. We need that Muddiness to appreciate the simple things and to learn not to take them for granted. I am thankful for all the mud that has brought me to appreciate the imperfect perfectness of my... life and those who helped me get here. Wishing you and your family an abundant Thanksgiving!

5 Reasons Why you should try a virtual yoga class. 1. From the comfort of your own home so come as you are (Pajamas highly recommended) 2. Saying you are not flexible enough for yoga is like saying your too dirty to have a bath. We all start somewhere.... 3. Nobody is watching so no pressure to look like anyone else but you 4. Take all the time you need to pause know one will know if you don’t do down dog 5. Melt away stress...and stay in savasana for as long as you want (you can even savasana in bed) Oh and ya 6....you can try it free for your first time. Once you’ve endured something that feels unimaginably hard, other difficulties pale in comparison. Remember this when you feel like giving in. You’ve been through worse and you’re stronger for it.
