Timing contractions can be tricking as you want to know duration and frequency. The usual rule is 5-1-1 before you call the midwife or goto the hospital. Contractions shouod be 5 mins apart, 1 min. in length for about 1 hour. Regular, strong contractions. That being said, if you feel the nees to call your health care provider before, do it. Everyone is different, and every birth will be different. _________________________________... There are also some very helpful apps out there that can help with timing your contractions. #birthdoula #timingcontractions #birthinformation #birthprep #labour #birthwithoutfear

It's #worldbreastfeedingweek ! Breastfeeding is an amazing relationship between a mother and her baby! WHO (the world health organization) recommends: - that breastfeeding starts within an hour of birth - baby is exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months (this means only breastmilk until 6 months, no formula, no sloppy solids and no bottles or soothers) - solids to be introduced at 6 months to compliment breastfeeding with continued breastfeeding up to 2 years of age or ...beyond. Any little bit is great! Whether it's 1 min or over 2 year, that's an amazing job momma! Did you breastfeed? If so, how long did you breastfeed for? Also is this picture not just thank you to a dear friend for giving me permission to use this dreamy breastfeeding picture #breastfeeding #fedisbest #mommamilk #breastfeedingeducator #worldhealthorganization #beautifulmomma

Super interesting video on why delayed cord clamping is ideal after birth! Ask your Health Care Provider how long they usually wait and if they would be willing to wait for at least 5 mins. or until the cord stops pulsing before cutting the cord!
