Did you know that when we take our usual "abstract math" and translate it into movement, it helps kids to embody the learning more? When more neural pathways are involved in learning, it literally creates a sense of understanding that doing math alone doesn't. GET UP AND GET MOVING! Math games and movement are a great way to help engage kids in learning!

How many times have you heard this phrase from your child? In difficult times like now with remote/virtual learning and the difficulties that so many kids are experiencing with anxiety over school, we must must must learn to respond in different and more impactful ways. Usually, we respond in a typical way by saying of course you’re not, or don’t say that! Although these responses are typical and meant in loving ways, they are not the most helpful to our children. The...y actually dismiss the child’s feelings and give them the impression that we aren’t listening, or that what they are feeling isn’t valid. The next time your child days I’m bad at this or I suck at this, try these more thoughtful growth mindset responses instead and see/feel the difference!
