Happy Monday everyone! A beautiful morning this morning!
Have a SWELL Holiday Season. The holiday season is on us and while it brings us joy to give and receive gifts and to spend social time with friends and family it is also the time of year when we women go into over drive trying to ensure that everything is perfect. Perfect for our family and loved ones but maybe not so perfect for us because we are exhausted and stressed sometimes before the big day comes. I have some tips below to ensure that you have too have a perfect tim...e this holiday season- in fact you will have a SWELL season if you follow these easy steps. S- is for soaking in a nice warm tub with Lavender scented Epsom salts just pulling the toxins from your body. For 10 minutes at the end of the day just breathe and relax. You can buy scented bath salts or make your own by adding essential oils to plain Epsom salts Lavender and Chamomile are a nice combination, but you can use whatever you like. W- is for walking. Take 20 minutes every day over the holidays and go for a walk around the block or by the lake or in the woods. Just 20 minutes of moderate exercise in nature will clear your mind and revitalize you for the rest of the day. E- is for eating. Of course, one of the best parts of the season is the food the cookies, bars, candy, fudge, yummy appetizers and of course the meals themselves. It isnt a race to eat as much as you can it is an opportunity to practice moderation and still enjoy the things you love. It wont take you long to gain a few pounds over the holidays, but it will take you longer to lose them. Small portions heavy on the vegetables will keep you satisfied and allow you to enjoy more. L- is for laughter. Time with family and friends should be fun and memorable but if you are worrying about if the turkey will be done or whether you have enough green beans you are focusing on the wrong things. Focus on being present with your loved ones and participate whole heartedly in the conversation and build memories of laughter. L-is for love. This season is about love, yet we focus so much on the material aspects we forget that the most priceless gift we can give is love. Use this season to spread love and joy to your friends, family and even strangers and that love will come back to ten-fold. I hope you all have a SWELL Christmas.
