As of November 30, Service Canada will reopen their Appointment System for scheduling biometrics appointments online: Services are by appointment only through... the System, there are no walk-in appointments available at Service Canada locations. Clients who have not been contacted by a Service Canada officer should use the tool to schedule their own appointment at the Service Canada location closest to them, as stated in the Biometrics Instruction Letter (BIL). Permanent residents who have not enrolled their biometrics within the past ten years are required to make a biometrics appointment to complete their application. Visa Applications Centres (VACs) in India are starting to offer limited biometrics appointments for those who are coming to Canada to permanently reunite with f...amily and those who are coming to study at one of the approved designated learning Institutions. Clients in India who are applying for permanent residence in the family class as a spouse, partner, or dependent child as well as study permit applicants who plan to study at one of the approved DLIs in Canada can now book an appointment to enrol their biometrics at a VAC. Biometrics appointments can be booked at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune in India.
