Ruffed Grouse with and without his stylish 'do.

Mr. and Mrs. Crossbill, aptly named, these little songbirds have a heavy-duty crossed bill for seed and nut eating. Found these 2 out in Kananaskis. That's Mr. on the left, Mrs. on the right.

Mr. and Mrs. Bald Eagle getting the nest ready. The one on the left is moving branches around. Took this photo from across the river and cropped it. The nest is probably about 6 ft.in diameter and 4 ft. tall

Rocky Mountain Goats.

Here's one more of that cute little Northern Pygmy Owl that I photographed. This is the back of him...he has 2 little black spots of feathers on the back of his head that look just like eyes as camouflage... such an advantage for deceiving predators.

Golden Eagles are very large like a Bald Eagle, approximately 2.5 ft. tall when standing and have a 6-7 ft wingspan. This is cropped severely as he was quite a long distance away, so not quite as sharp as it could be but I had never been able to take a photo of one, until today. Very impressive bird.

So I've been occupied lately and haven't been in touch as much with alot of you...but here's why. I am thrilled to debut my new logo and stay tuned for more news from BGV Photography !

For those of you that buy my Christmas cards...they are here! This year has a decidedly "wildlife" option, not just beautiful scenery. They are a VERY thick glossy card with a Christmas message inside, all images taken by yours truly. If you have someone special you'd like to send a special card too, these would be a nice option. Vermillion Lakes sunrise. Banff National Park #2-The duck stayed with me for the entire sunrise (which disturbed the perfect reflection, but it's his lake so I didn't complain.) Instead, I promised him a cameo, that's photo #2.

I have already had to order a 2nd printing of my calendars this fall, so if you would like one (or a few) please let me know and I will arrange to get it to you as soon as possible, especially if you are sending overseas for Christmas!
