It was an honour to be invited again by Sheridan College and Professor Pauline Giovannetti to act as Judge for Mock Trials in the Civil Trial Procedure & Advocacy class. Always a pleasure to give back and see new students developing their advocacy skills. Thank you Sheridan College!

Thank you to Sheridan College and Professor Pauline Giovannetti for inviting me to judge mock trials for the Paralegal Program this week. It was such an honour and a pleasure to watch students develop their advocacy skills. Impressive. The role of judge is a difficult one when rendering a fair decision. My tremendous respect for our Honorable Judges, Justices, and Adjudicators.
Ageism exists amongst recruiters and hiring managers where 67% of employees aged 45 to 74 say they've seen or fallen victim to it. Would it be illegal for a head-hunter firm in Canada to comply with a request by a client to send only ‘young’ workers (or only women, or only white people, etc)? Section 23(4) of the Ontario Human Rights Code would answer that question.
It was an honour to have been invited by Sheridan College for its 2018 Paralegal Student-Alumni Mentoring event. Always a pleasure giving back and helping students...Thank you to the Sheridan College Alumni Event Coordinator, Staff, and students.
In an effort to combat gender discrimination and increase transparency during this process, on March 6, 2018, the Ontario government introduced The Pay Transparency Act (the PTA), which, as the name suggests, establishes requirements concerning disclosure of compensation particulars of employees and prospective employees. If passed, the PTA, which is proposed to come into force on January 1, 2019, will prohibit employers from asking candidates about their compensation history

On April 30, it will become mandatory for most residential landlords to use a 13-page standardized lease agreement, recently unveiled by the provincial government. https://www.cp24.com//what-renters-need-to-know-about-onta
Proud to share article I wrote on the effects of the 2016 Supreme Court of Canada ruling in R . v Jordan on section 11(b) Charter Rights on provincial prosecutions: Is Justice Delayed, Justice Denied? published in Auxilium Legal. http://auxiliumlegal.ca/justice-delayed-justice-denied/
