On behalf of the Black History Manitoba Celebration Committee (BHMCC) we are thankful for your attendance at our activities and the support you have given to us over the past years as together we celebrate diversity here in Winnipeg. Once again, we cordially invite you to our exciting slate of Black History Month (BHM) events for February 2021. This year marks our 40th year of celebrations here in Winnipeg, and our theme is... Remembering the Past, Shaping the Future Even though COVID-19 precautions prevent us from celebrating with in-person gatherings, we plan to celebrate anyway with virtual events. Starting off, we have our Virtual Official Opening Ceremony and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Service on January 31, 2021 starting at 6 PM (event link below). Topic: Black History Month Opening Ceremony and Martin Luther King Memorial Service 2021 Time: Jan 31, 2021 06:00 PM Winnipeg Join Zoom Event https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5529326039 Meeting ID: 552 932 6039 Passcode: BHMCC2021
As we celebrate MLK Jr today, let us remember to seek justice for all, equality for all, freedom for all, safety for all. For if one among us is wronged, we are all wronged. Use your position to position others.
We are happy to announce that we are kicking off our 2021 celebration with the Opening ceremonies January 31,2021. This will not a only start our year long celebration but also inaugurate our new name Black History Manitoba and launch our new website! The link for this event will be coming soon and available on our Facebook page. Thank you for your continued support of BHMCC and encourage you to share this invitation with your network, family and friends.
BHMCC Inc is marking 40 years of educating and celebrating Black History in Manitoba and the goal continues to be to expand our reach and so we are happy to announce our new name and logo. BHMCC Inc will now stand for BLACK HISTORY MANITOBA CELEBRATION COMMITTEE INC. to signify our efforts to expand Black History education beyond February and reach more communities outside the Winnipeg area.#culture #bhm2021 #education #awareness #knowledgetransfer #Winnipeg #blackhistory #knowyourroots
