Info for contractors regarding the new lockdown procedures.

Thanks to Paul Paquette for the recommendation on this one. Dorothy’s old steps were on their last leg and she needed a landing to make it more safe when opening the door instead of having to stand on a narrow top step. We built a new secure landing with stairs and railings, the client is very happy!

Helped past clients get their duplex in Guelph finished up so they could get it rented out. I believe the basement unit (2 bedroom, full kitchen and laundry) is still available for rent. If you are in Guelph and looking for a clean cozy unit, let me know. But this place won’t last long.

Wrapped up a steel shed project yesterday and discovered a large established bee hive about 10’ above us in the tree. Anyone know what kind of bee this is as it’s not your typical yellow jacket! These suckers were huge!

Freshened up a basement for some good friends, updated some lighting, added an accent wall and some new baseboards! They love the new look!!!

Great little project we did for Grand River Physiotherapy clinic in town. They’re old ramp was very badly deteriorated so we built them a new one! We also encountered one of the biggest slugs I have ever seen!!! 4 long! We moved them to a different part of the flower bed so we could continue working. I hope they get another 10-12+ years use out of the new ramp for their clientele. @ Grand River Physiotherapy & Harrington Physiotherapy

From 1965 to 2020! This bathroom was virtually untouched. Mirror and the tub were stamped 1964. Discovered the tub valve was leaking in the wall, vanity drain was rotted through and the toilet seal was leaking. Repaired all the issues and put it all back together. The clients are very happy with the new look.

Well... it took a while due to COVID-19 but its finally done! Originally built in 1837, if these walls could talk! We ran into a couple bumps in the road but with constant communication with the client we worked through them one by one. Nothing is straight and nothing is level! I only remember being in the tavern a few times way back when. It has since been demolished when they found an old stone kitchen on the back part of the inn. With the property being historical, it couldnt be torn down.

Just grazed my thumb with a 10lb hammer this afternoon. Blood blister formed in about 45 seconds. That was a close call!

And so it begins... round 2(or is it 3 )! Since we cant work, might as well start on my house. Maybe I will get it sided this year!

Just blew up my Shop-Vac brand shop vac... probably just over a year old! Because of the steel drum on it, it generates a static electric charge that when you walk by it... it damn near stops your heart!! So looking for a new one today. Whats your go to for shop vacs on a construction site???

The Woodstock duplex conversion is complete! Check out how things transformed and turned out. I believe they already have it rented out and will have tenants moving in in the next couple weeks. Really pleased with how everything turned out. Hope my clients like it!!!

Put in a proper exterior door instead of an interior bedroom door for a new client on their shed.

Another quick reno for an existing client just wrapped up. Couple extra bedrooms and made the 2pc into a 3pc.

New flooring throughout and new handrails/balusters for an existing client.

Designed and built a covered patio for a new client. Love working outside when the weather is nice, got soaked one day. But the clients love it and are moving forward getting things just the way they want it now!

Was out of town this week in Shedden. Client was going on week 8 sleeping on the couch in the living room and needed some assistance finishing the bedroom. So we drywalled the new closet, mud and sand, screwed down the new subfloor, installed flooring, finished off with new baseboards and hung a bedroom door. Not too sure on the history of this house but I had to take some pics of the flooring! You dont see this very often, some fine workmanship went into this place back in the day thats for sure!!!

Resurfaced a deck for an elderly couple, complete with a privacy fence/louvers!

The past five weeks have been fun! Lots of work went into this one and the final pictures look fantastic!!! Rick Tucker, Heather and Brooklyn (and the two dogs ) have put up with dust everywhere, lots of smashing, banging and cutting but they can finally enjoy their new digs. Enjoy guys!!!

Good friend from high school days needed his deck resurfaced and added an additional 4. Then we repaired a broken fence post and rebuilt two 8 privacy sections of the fence. Upgrade to black aluminum balusters was a prerequisite so we did just that! They love it and will get lots of use out of it for years to come!!! @ Preston, Ontario

Accepted a challenging project last week. A friend from high school had a bathroom pretty much torn apart but needed to have it finished by Friday so they could leave for vacation AND have pictures taken as they were selling the property. So we put in a few longer days and got it done for them! I forgot to take some before pictures but we had to break up the floor, relocate the shower drain, redo some framing around the bulkhead, install pot lights and a new exhaust fan. Turns out the duct work for the fan wasnt connected so had to fix that, go to put in his new toilet and it didnt fit, had to get a different one (got lucky with the last one on the shelf from the supplier!). Overall it turned out great and they are very happy with it!

Worked out of town (St. Catharines) for a great couple. Wallpaper accent wall, but not your traditional vertical wallpaper... she wanted it installed horizontally! Fresh bold paint color but it turned out great!

The second painting project of the week. We got rid of the dated popcorn ceiling in this bedroom, applied a skim coat of compound, sanded and painted everything top to bottom! Tried to make this corner jut-out smaller but the stove pipe from the basement wood stove occupies the cavity so it had to stay. We also repaired some water damage around the tub and freshened it up with a couple coats of paint. It was a pleasure working for a friend from high school!

Its been a busy week and a half painting, painting and more painting! First project, this couple decided it was time for a new coat of paint. We did the walls and all the trim here. Cant wait for them to get back from out west to see the new look!

Another referral from Reg over at Nicholls Plumbing. Here the client recently purchased the property for rental purposes and removed the ceiling in the basement recroom, and a bulk head in the living/dining area. After some discussions, we decided to replace the old dated kitchen with a new Nimble kitchen. So we did just that and painted the entire place top to bottom! It turned out pretty sharp and move in ready!

Sometimes you just need to update a few things to freshen up your kitchen. Here we removed the old dark backsplash, replaced the cabinet above the microwave (and had to fix the ventilation), added a cabinet on the end, had some under cabinet lighting installed, installed new backsplash and installed a valance. We also installed a scribe mounding along the baseboard and toe kicks around the kitchen. Something so simple, yet gives it a finished look! The client absolutely loves the new bright, clean look. Thank you to Monica over at Bbare Beauty Salon for the recommendation! These ladies were great to work for and I look forward to any future projects they might have.

Another project finished for a long time local business owner in Cambridge for as long as I can remember, Cazs Great Fish!. Been a while since I worked a night shift but we got it done! 8pm to 2am last night!

Upgraded one of the rooms over at #bbare with some cabinetry and a wet sink so she can expand on the services that they offer. Love helping out local businesses. This project turned out great and the client loves it!!! @ BBare Beauty Bar

On top of my day job, I have a huge project going on at my house(1 of many ). Front sitting area off the house and laundry room floor getting painted.

Freshly painted rental property for a past client!

In a number of years these lintels would be nothing but rust, leaving marks/stains on the stone and the siding. We talked with our paint specialists and got them all fixed up on the entire house.

Looking for more storage in your garage. Here we installed a 14x4 mezzanine type storage shelf for a client. Also made a couple other suggestions if they are still looking for additional storage.

A past client asked if we could help out on this unit for her father. Its unfortunate when tenants dont take care of things as they live there. We brought it back to life again for them! I believe they are currently looking for a tenant of this 1 bedroom unit located just 3 minutes outside Cambridge.

Wrapped up this bathroom for long time friends! So much brighter and clean looking, they love it!!!

An existing client recently moved to Ayr and liked the work we did for them previously so we renovated their new house. Installed all new flooring, baseboards and a new improved kitchen. @ Ayr, Ontario

This client recently lost her husband, but was planning to build a retaining wall for the driveway and decided to throw in some railings for the front porch. @ Cambridge, Ontario

This client had to remove his lower deck because it was rotten. He installed a new stamped patio and needed new stairs from his balcony down to the patio. We built him a new landing and stairs down to the patio while they were vacationing. I think they are gonna like it when they get back! @ Kitchener, Ontario
