For years, local retailers and businesses have supported our community. As retail starts to open back up, it’s time to give some support back to them. Here’s just a few names on our office chalkboard that have sponsored local teams, including several regular sponsors of the NGMSA, my daughters baseball league. We will add more to our board, and we’d like you to leave a comment and recognize any local retailer/organization that you feel deserves our support!

We are happy to report that the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, under direction from the Provincial Government, has directed us to gradually resume "normal" business. Our office will be taking the necessary precautions as we re-open on Monday, June 1. Patients and staff will all have certain responsibilities to ensure a safe environment in which to return. For our valued patients: -Treatment is by appointment only (905-357-1543). Please do not make an appointment if you ...are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, if you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive, or if you have been out of the country in the past 14 days. -Please bring a mask or face covering. -Please show up at your appointed time. In order to control patient flow and to keep our waiting room empty, we are reducing our capacity to approximately 50% of normal levels. Arriving too early or late for your appointment will lead to congestion, and as such, you will be asked to return at your actual appointed time if you are early, or rebook if you are late. -Wash your hands before coming to the office and use the supplied hand santizer upon entering our office. We thank you for complying with these precautions and we appreciate your understanding as we work through the "new normal". Our office will look a little different at first, but it will look a whole lot better now that you're returning! We will be updating our website in the next day to reflect a complete list of precautions that are being instituted at the office. Check out www.DrBiamonte.com in the coming days. Looking forward to getting back!

We’ve had several inquiries from patients who are currently experiencing significant back and neck pain. Our office continues to remain closed for regular office hours, with a provision for treatment of significantly painful conditions. Per CCO guidelines, Dr. Biamonte will make himself available to treat acute patients, by appointment only. Please visit our website for details, including required precautions that must be taken by the office and all patients. Find us at www.drbiamonte.com

Looking to get our chiropractic tables reupholstered. Any recommendations for someone in Niagara Falls who does this out of their home professionally, and is looking for some business during the Covid shutdown? Individual table pieces can be dropped off. DM if you have suggestions. Thanks!

One of the most common questions I get from patients is pertaining to the appropriate use of hot or cold to treat their aches and pains. Here’s a chart that you should find helpful, especially during this time of limited treatment options. If you’re still unsure what to use, the general rule is to go with ice. Avoid applying heat on acute injuries - after falls, accidents or sports injuries, for example. For chronic pain, you can experiment with heat for ten minutes, foll...owed immediately by ice for 10 minutes, always ending with ice. Lastly, when using heat, do not overdo it. Apply for 20 minutes, then remove for at least 20 minutes before re-applying. It should feel comfortably warm - not hot! Heating too long or too much will do more harm than good. We will see you back in the office soon enough!
