I will be attending the fortieth anniversary Memorial Service of the Temiskaming Canoe Tragedy in Toronto this coming June. My emotions are mixed and there's more than a twinge of anxiousness. The all too recent tragic Bronco's hockey team road disaster brought all the memories back and stirred the same emotional responses as Temiskaming in 1978. I haven't seen some friends & families since that time. I hope despite the difficult years between then and now that there will be some joy and healing.

Kennel work can be hazardous! I was toweling snow off Misha, a large, black & white Collie mix. Misha is very playful and as I was leaning over him he suddenl...y flicked his head backwards catching me full in the mouth with the top of his head! I heard a sudden cry of pain and was surprised to find it came from me! I was stunned! A clean towel came in handy as I assessed the damage. The towel was wet red! My front teeth are still there, but the right-hand tooth is still tender after a week. This is definitely a case for Worker's Kennel Comp! See more

Nine dogs in today. Best January in years! Hope it keeps going! A real blessing to be able to make a living at what I love doing.

Adam went from stud work the day before to teeth cleaning or more accurately, teeth extracting yesterday. He now has only five teeth remaining; four main incisors and one molar. He was anxious at the vets, but when I went to pick him up he came striding out on the leash where I gave him a big welcome! Man, was he relieved to see me and I him! No more teeth cleaning for him, but it took $1,000 to get out of the door! He's doing well today!

Adam's stud services were called on today when Caramel visited the kennel. She's not ready but Adam is ready anytime! :) Friday they'll go again in an effort for puppy production! :)

Today, August 12th is Woodstock's birthday. It's his seventeenth! Woods isn't much for celebrating these days, but he will have a special dinner. Happy birthday Woods!

Woody will be 16 on August 12th. The annual Bichon Barn Boarding Kennel BBQ this year is on August 20th, so come and help Woody celebrate his milestone day, have some good food part provided and pot-luck and share in the fun!.
