Some helpful advice here for sure. There's certainly regional location that should also affect how you maintain your chain. You should be careful about the lube you use. You should use wet lube when you're cycling in the winter. Summer time in the Edmonton region you should be using dry lube and very sparingly. Wax lube doesn't clean itself in our environment simply leads to gross build up.
