Embracing diversity. Bicycle designs that have introduced a cornucopia of choices in wheel sizes and tire patterns needs to inform the provision of bicycle parking both for site design and hardware choices. Cargo and e-bikes often enough now are being fitted with scooter or moped sized tires wrapped around fancy hoops (note the drillings to save weight - and look pretty) that need space and tender handling when they are at rest.... Ancient "wheel bender" racks - most commonly exhibited as a lump of concrete with a wheel well ground deeply into the form remain littered across urban landscapes, even as newer hardware designs pop up in fresher developments. Anything that includes a wheel well will limit those who can park there, but perhaps more importantly, site design needs to evolve. Wider, longer bikes need more generous space between each other where cluster parking is provided, and longer footprints for bigger bikes, especially those with trunks, trailers or other cargo carrying features, which too often figure into too many installations near and far. A future of transporting ourselves demands fresh ideas. https://www.flickr.com/phot/luton/51592974395//dateposted/

Down and dirty. Nice space saver, though it could still use a tweak or two. A roll up wheel track is a win - stabilizing both wheels prevents the bike from tipping in either direction. The hoop designed for your lock is too low for me. Would rather have it a little longer to reach the down tube more so than the rear triangle, where users will have to deftly thread their lock around chainstays and the drive train to secure their bike, almost certainly getting dirty in the process.

Worth repeating. Simple design for free standing, individual bike racks, deliver on key objectives of providing better bike parking with an aesthetic tocuh. Thanks TD! https://www.flickr.com/phot/luton/51535793467//dateposted/
