Just you wait... The dreaded three words that haunted me pre and postpartum. Each time I had a concern or discomfort... ... just you wait, it gets worse Each moment I celebrated overcoming a struggle with Leila... just you wait, it won’t last Sharing we were pregnant with our second... just you wait, it’s SO much worse with two These three words used to be such a trigger for me... they made me angry, they filled me with doubt, I felt hopeless in my own journey. Until ONE mom, all it took was ONE mom to say... just you wait... you think you love now, it grows and grows and grows when you have another Then another mom, sending me photos of her sweet littles playing together... just you wait, this is what you have to look forward to I want to say THANK you to all the moms who changed the narrative of just you wait for me... and I want to share my own, for the soon to be or new mama who may need to hear it now... Just you wait... Until your heart grows so big it almost pains from how much you love something so little. Until you hear that first laugh and it feels like your soul is living outside of your body. Until they surprise you with something remarkable... and this will happen a LOT, and you realize you’ve never felt such a pride in your life. Until they challenge the worst side of you and you become the person you always wanted to be. Until you hear the sweet sound of mama for the first time and realize you’ve never felt a joy so deep. Until they come to you for a cuddle when they’re sad and you realize you may just need the comfort more than they do. Until fort building and dance parties and baking cookies and puddle jumping and ice cream dates and first skates and swimming class and every single little thing that appeared so plain and mundane, made into something extraordinary, by a sweet little human who came into the world and took your breath away. Mama, just you wait

Happy New Year!! As Dreamers, we know that a little positive affirmation goes a long way! T (age 5) used her pre-writing skills to make her very own affirmation. She doesn't know what it says, but we all agreed that it is a beautiful addition!
