HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY! We have had the opportunity to sit down with terrific female leaders in the Fraser Valley. Kim Gemmell faced a lot of adversity with the birth of her second child, and chose to share how she coped and managed the adversity in both her books: Bravery: Our Journey of Faith, Hope & Love and Smile Again!... Sue Knott is a mother, Chilliwack City Councillor, Executive Director of Chilliwack Hospice Society, member of the Rotary Club and Soroptimist Club. She has opened the doors for the arts, and so much more! Katie McKay is a mother and is also involved in 3 different businesses: Connect Now Business Network, Chewie Media, and What's On Chilliwack Magazine & Online. She is kind, hardworking and sets a phenomenal example for entrepreneurs. Zina Lee has a PhD and is the Director of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of the Fraser Valley. She works incredibly hard to facilitate an environment of learning as a professor. Anouk Crawford is a family lawyer and owner of Vale Family Law & Mediation. She has been involved in municipal committees, and is currently working pro-Bono for indigenous communities develop Matrimonial Property Laws that work for their community. As well, she helps young lawyers enter the legal profession. Rebekah Megan is currently taking full-time courses at the University of the Fraser Valley, working as a social media manager for Chilliwack Communities Building Youth Futures, and share her passion for psychology through The Psychology Enthusiast.
