Every decision I make is with informed intention, in my best interests for my own health and wellness. There was a time when this wasn't the case, and I did irreparable damage to my mind and body when I was young and foolish and valued work over wellness. I am allowed to say times are tough ...physically, financially, mentally, because they ARE! And I'm sure there are a few others out there who share this sentiment. Keep your money in these tough times and send me your happy thoughts and smiles instead. When I speak on financial hardships, I am calling only on the government, local, provincial, federal, to step up with the funding, not only for me, but people like me. As a personal decision for my own health and safety, Big Guns will not open this Friday. When I do finally reopen, the first full month or possibly two, I will be booking only those on my priority list who missed appointments in March/April and have emailed me at [email protected] in order to receive updates privately. As a high risk individual myself, I find Mr. Ford's actions abrupt and concerning. Worst case scenario, I do not want to die at the other end of a ...breathing tube alone in a hospital. So Big Guns will not be opening until late July or Early August at the soonest. Thank you all for your understanding. I will be more than agreeable if you choose to get your hair cut at one of our many fine local establishments in the meantime. I will be doing an update post here soon. We still have no set date to reopen here in Ontario. I have been keeping very up to date with our government these days. I hope I'll have a date for all of you soon. Thanks again for sitting tight with me. At this point, I'd say there is no shame in taking matters into your "own hands" as I know many of you have too much hair to bear the summer heat. Howdy, folks! Time for a little update. As some of you may already know, my projected date to reopen on May 12 is being pushed back again by the provincial government, understandably. I've been looking for some authentic info on when my industry is projected to go back to work, but I've had many mixed answers. Some say June, some say October. So, with everything up in the air at the moment, I'm going to put a system in place, based on the government restrictions and the fact... that I am immunocompromised and have long term respiratory illness. On June 1st, I will be contacting those of you who had missed your appointments in March and April, those of you who emailed me as per my instructions to be put on the priority list. The idea is that by June 1st I will have a set day to reopen the shop. The first month after the official date the shop reopens will be dedicated to those who had appointments in March and April. I will not be answering the phone, taking appointments or returning calls while I play catch up. A month after the official date I reopen, if all goes well, I will open up to the public once again. The only set date here is on June 1st I will open up booking for those who had appointments during the initial outbreak. Everything else is on a need to know basis right now, and I appreciate your patience and ongoing patronage more than words can say. That's all, folks!

This has been the most teeth grinding, sweaty, lump-in-my-throat decision I've ever been forced to make, but I value my own health and the health of my customers way more than I value my income. Big Guns Barbershop is officially closed until April 7 effective immediately as per the orders of our provincial government and Algoma public health. Please be assured I will be back behind the chair in full force and then some the minute I get the green light to do so. I can't wait to clean up everyone's quarantine hair and maybe do some new fresh styles for those wanting a change! Here's a huge salute to all the workers of essential services, especially those in healthcare, and also the immunocompromised like myself. What's at stake for us is not to be taken lightly. We will get through this together and I'll be counting down every minute until it's safe for me to get back to making you wonderful folks look dapper!
