5th Big O Memorial Tournament

Welp, what a weekend. The 5 of us by ourselves drove 19 hours to host a tourney full of all B.C. Teams in the name of our brother Olivier Moreau. 16 hours on the diamond fir each of us yeasteday and another 12 today . One thing the Big O reminds me every year is just how many friends I have from beautiful British Columbia. Wish I could see all of you more often Amazing weekend from Roll 2 with a great run by Lights Out and Diamondbacks. D12 snuck out a close one against the... Bandits. Indians as always with a string outing at the Bog O knocked off a tuff Show Me The Money squad. Then Killer Connection beat Qwesqi in their final. Thank you so much to all our friends for the continued support and coming out in the memory of our great friend. Unfortunately we had one team just drop out of the BIG O this coming weekend. We need to find one team to fill our schedule. Any chance there are a few ball players willing to through a team together, help us out for a great cause and celebration. The Man, The Mythe, The Legend Olivier Moreau

It may not be as big as our May long weekend but we are still committed to hosting a great event and celebrate our amazing friend Olivier again this year. Big O is back on

Just an update on the 5th Big O. As of now we are still planning on hosting this great event. May long weekend is still a long time away and obviously things can change for the bad or for the good in a hurry. If there is any association still willing to allow us at the time of the tournament, WE WILL BE PLAYING BALL

We are currently sitting at 22 teams for the 5th Annual Big O and it's only January.. This year we are donating $25 from every teams entry back to O's family. Also this year our coaches meeting will be Friday night at the diamonds while we host a Massive Home Run Derby. Half of the pot will go to the winner and the other half will be donated to O's family. Also with the help of Stephen Crone and some great sponsors we will be running raffles of which 100% of the proceeds will... be going to O's family. We are now taking $100 deposits. Just to ease some concerns on past, present, future BIG O tournaments. When I first sat down and envisioned this great event, I thought what is a great way to get all of Olivier Moreaus friends together to celebrate his life? Obviously at a ball tournament. Because he had friends all over the country but primarily in BC, though it would be a tonne of extra work it only made sense to host it closer to the masses so Kamloops was picked. My intentions every year was to make sure... we raise some funds to help out Catrina Maunder and Landon. First few years we were able to scratch up a bit but I wanted to do more. So I put all my thoughts towards an new way. Last year i created the online store, i marketed it, emailed it, facebooked it, private messaged it and unfortunately it flopped! 6 sales that’s it. Then two never paid for their orders and I was left on the hook for them to boot. The schedule was too busy for a derby in which we used to give half to Catrina. Needless to say last year when everything was said and done we didn’t come up with anything. We do use this tourney a team fundraiser and last year we made $1650. $1650 for a team after 7 months of planning, collecting emts, 100s of emails back and forth with teams, teams dropping out, driving 10 hours there and back with the whole team, and one of our dealing with one of our good friends Jeff Crouse heart issues while we were there, I can tell you right now if it wasn’t for Olivier I wouldn’t have thought it was worth while. Now luckily another good friend Stephen Crone has reached out to me. He opened up his heart to help me come up with ways to raise more money than we ever had. Silent auction items, we are doing a big derby Friday Night instead of a coaches meeting where we hope to fill it and donate half of those proceeds. We are doing 1 unlimited HR wristband per team where 100% of those proceeds will be donated. We are working on other ways and have a hefty goal in mind that I think we will be able to reach. Running a tourney is hard, running a 65 team tourney in another province by yourself when it’s your busiest time of the year at work is next to impossible but somehow we do it. I am more than open for help or ideas if anyone have any. I do this tourney to celebrate one of my best friends and I do have a big heart and I’m also one of the most transparent people you will meet so feel free to pm me if you have any ideas, thoughts, concerns, or just want to chat about it.
