We've lost yet another BOB Grad today. Noel was a firecracker! Just a puppy when we took her into rescue around Christmas back in 2007. That's how she got the name, Noel. It suited her. Every day was Christmas Day for Noel! Especially when she found her Forever Family. This was the first pic I received from her family after she was adopted. I've cherished it ever since. Their sweet, silly girl always making it her mission to bring laughter to every moment.... Why oh why can't they live forever... Noel was in congestive heart failure. She couldn't fight it any longer and so, this morning, this little shining star joined the rest of our shining stars that we've loved and lost. She's sure to make quite an impression in heaven. Tonight, we'll be lighting a candle for Noel and embracing her family from afar. We could not be more grateful to them for giving this little firecracker the opportunity to light up their world all these happy years.

We have good news to share! Poppy (our Calendar Girl for the Month of March!) braved her checkup and the results are back! She got an All Clear! No sign of any new tumours! Bloodwork all good! Best of all...Spring is almost here and it's Poppy's favourite time of year! The Mud Queen can't wait for the royal mud to appear at Sheba's Haven! Catherine is already preparing the royal bath tub for Her Majesty as soon as the need arises!

Long and stressful night for Roxy Rae and her Family here at BOB. Roxy had to be admitted to the Hurontario Veterinary Emergency Hospital earlier tonight due to worsening and mysterious bouts of pain. X-rays and an ultrasound were needed which resulted in an incidental finding of great concern. A suspicious spot on her lung was looking like either a sign of congestive heart failure or, worse case scenario, a tumour. Images were immediately sent off to a Radiologist for evalu...ation while we anxiously waited to hear. Just now, word came back. Good news. No heart failure. No tumour. It's turned out to be a hernia! Although it needs to be closely monitored and may require medication to manage it in the future, we're not about to lose our sweet little girl after all and we could not be more grateful. As for the bouts of pain, the emergency vet is suspecting a back injury so she'll be put on pain medication and will need plenty of rest over the next while. Hopefully, it will resolve with time and not require a trip to a neurologist. Before heading home with her very relieved foster daddy, the kind staff took this picture of Roxy for us. Our sincere thanks to the staff at Hurontario VEC for their compassion and excellent care of our little Roxy. We also thank all of you, our supporters, for making it possible for us to do absolutely everything and anything for our Beagles - especially in times like this.

There's no place like HOME! We are so happy to share the good news. After 3 nail-biting nights in hospital, Toulow is back home with his Forever Foster Family who counted every waking minute, hour, day until he was back in their arms again. We are hopeful he will continue to strengthen and share more happy times with his family. And heck, it's the perfect day to be a Couch Potato anyway!

Prayers are needed for Toulow. Tonight will be his third night in hospital. He wasn't feeling well after his surgery to remove a mass on his neck, refusing to eat. Our vets are suspecting Myositis which is basically an inflammation of the jaw muscle and surrounding areas. It's very painful and the only way to combat the condition is through the use of steroids which could be high risk to Toulow's heart and kidneys as he's already been diagnosed with Protein Losing Nephropathy. But we need to at least give it a try. Please keep him in your thoughts tonight. We'll know within a day or two whether this treatment is going to work and save his life. Our hearts are with Toulow's forever foster family who only just recently lost their other beloved BOB beagle Kevin.
