Please be advised that at 3:00pm on December 31, a manager of the Ridge Day Lodge was informed by Interior Health that one of their team members had a positive test result returned on this day. The team member last worked in the Ridge Day Lodge on Sunday, December 27. The team member resides in private accommodation with other resort residents who do not work for Big White Ski Resort Ltd. Interior Health has concluded their contact tracing. The Ridge Day Lodge was closed imme...diately and will be sanitized and fogged this evening as a normal nightly procedure and will reopen January 1, 2021 for washroom-use only. Food service is suspended until further notice. Out of an abundance of caution, and in accordance with Interior Health contact tracing protocols, all staff working in the building have been advised to isolate and self monitor their symptoms for the next 10 days. Our COVID-19 protocol team is assisting our team members who require isolation accommodation and they will all be in isolation by 4:30pm this evening. Interior Health has released its latest update on the COVID-19 Cluster at Big White Mountain. Twelve cases remain active and in isolation at the resort, with 5 additional cases isolating elsewhere. The total number of cases since the initial cluster was reported on December 15 is 111. Ninety-four have recovered. Tess Dakota Critchlow, National SBX Team athlete sponsored by Big White Ski Resort I’m in Saas Fee, Switzerland training with the rest of the Canadian National SBX Team. It’s been six months since we’ve all been on snow together, and considering the times I’m feeling really lucky to be getting back into the swing of things. ... My cheeks actually hurt from smiling so much our first day back on snow! I think this is one of the most beautiful and unique locations we get to train at. We’ve got a full SBX track for on snow training, natural cold baths for recovery, activities to do in the valley on days off and there is even a camel who lives on the hillsides! But I haven’t been to see him yet. We’ve had four days on snow and I’m super happy to be feeling good on my board again! We have day off tomorrow and it’s supposed to snow so maybe we’ll get some fresh tracks in as well!
