Bikemobile

Bushtukah is Bush League! I have now worked on over two hundred Trek bikes that were bought from Bushtukah in Ottawa, in the last several years. I am dumbfounded and fed up that not a single one of those bikes were put together properly at Bushtukah. Building almost any new bike is quite simple and basic and is how I, and most bike mechanics, began our career. Unless your bike is equipped with expensive sealed hubs, the axles of all new wheels need to be manually adjusted at ...the point of purchase. Canadian Tire and other department stores like Sport Chek also couldn’t be bothered to do this crucial adjustment. I don’t have this problem with any other notable local bike store, but I have never once found a Bushtukah bike that had properly adjusted wheel cones. They are also obviously too lazy and incompetent to do this adjustment during their ridiculously expensive tune-ups as well. It is outrageous that the biggest Trek dealer in my city is doing such an injustice to my industry. I love Trek bikes. I have never met one I didn’t like. That is why this is so exasperating to me. Since nobody in their company has any idea on how to service hubs, I will gladly go into both of their busy stores and teach their clueless mechanics how to do what they should have always been doing, for all of our sake. Aleksey Mazgo This has been an unforgettable year for all of us. While tuning up another 1500 bikes to perfection this past season, I was able to train my Belorussian buddy Aleksey on how to tune a bike properly. It is so important as most of the local bike shops provide such pathetic expensive service these days, Bushtukah being the worst. Watch for Aleksey pulling his Bikemobile trailer all around town tuning bikes, with his electric Volt bike. ... Avoid next spring’s inevitable high demand for our services and have us tune your bikes this fall before you put them away for the season, so they will be ready for you next year. My First Jump! This was the best way to end my best summer. Facing my fears finally and taking that step. I may even jump out of that plane next. If you were ever tempted to go, do so.
