It is with a heavy heart that the Bill Bolton Arena family says goodbye to long-time leader, Jim Oreto. Jim was the manager of Bill Bolton from 1974-2010, where he was the architect of the special arena we all know and love. He was a mentor who always put his own staff before himself. A great boss that led to long serving personnel, including our current manager Mario, who started working for Jim in 1985. Jim fought for free public skates, ice time for local schools and comm...unity organizations. His vision of a local, community arena free from corporate advertising and large associations made Bill Bolton Arena unique in the city. He created a home for people of all backgrounds and experiences to enjoy all that a community rink could be. Jim will always be remembered for all he did for Bill Bolton Arena. Our love and support go to his family and all who knew him. It is a great loss for our community. It is with a heavy heart that we are cancelling our Fall 2020/Winter 2021 programs including our hockey leagues. Due to the continuing high case counts in the City and provincial restrictions on indoor recreation, it is not possible to run our programs. It is devastating news and we apologize for the disappointment. We hope this will help the community stay safe and be excited for a great 2021 season!
