Our private property has been tagged again. We are constantly painting over this vandalism weekly. The kick in the teeth is, the city of Toronto will issue a fine to the property owner for grafity. So the victim is the one being punished. This is a police matter, not an up holding tax paying citizens problem.... Very sad to hear the my neighbours and friends at Brass Taps are closing there doors forever. They've been a pillar in the neighbourhood for 30 years. They've been the local pub that most of the neighbourhood would congregate nightly. I'm deeply sad for Will and Clair and there children. What do they do now, where has the government relief been for the last 8 months, where has the support from the neighbourhood been when they reopened.... This is the reality of what is happening. No support for the little guy, but no restrictions on big box stores, etc.. This is tonight here at Billiards Academy. All levels of government are still talking about more restrictions for the hospitality, yet none have stepped up to the plate for any business. We don't need hand-outs, we need relief, we need tax credits, we need property discount not deferrals, we need corporate tax relief, so we can weather the storm.... If for some reason we are forced to shut down again, Academy will be gone for ever. Call, email, spread the news to our politicians that this is the situation.

So I received my natural gas bill for Billiards Academy today. I've been closed since March 16 for obvious reasons. All gas that feeds kitchen equipment and heating units are off. But for some reason there is usage. The most frustrating charge on the bill is the #carbontax I still do not understand how the #carbontax is supposed to help the environment, when we are currently emiting no emissions, but still 10% of the bill is extra tax....
