Did you know that there are more priority places in Canada? 11 priority places have been identified by federal, provincial, and terr...itorial governments for species at risk conservation, shown in the list pictured. But this isn’t the only list there’s also additional community-nominated priority places across Canada. In each priority place, the federal and provincial or territorial governments work closely with local conservation organizations, Indigenous peoples, and other partners and stakeholders to develop conservation action plans. These plans identify key actions to address the greatest threats to species. While we may be biased in thinking the LPWF is the most important place of all, each priority place that is identified and given funding shows a step towards protecting and recovering species and their habitats all across Canada, ensuring future generations can experience their wonder!
