I do not believe my life has been the same since landing upon this beautiful land owned and operated by the most caring hosts; Dianne and Klaus Derksen. Not onl...y did they leave a lasting impression, they provided experiences I will hopefully be able to pass along to others for decades to come. With the changing of the leaves and the trees looking so colourful, we are going to do two guided ATV trips every weekend. Each trip will be about 130 km to 170 km with nice scenic outlooks. The trails are UTV friendly. For the Thanksgiving weekend, we will do a short trip on Sunday and then we will host a deep-fried turkey supper, with each cottage bringing a dish, bought or homemade. There is no charge for guiding, only the cost of the cottage, and you can see the cottages on FB, just click on "cottages and prices". For more info call us at 705-356-5550. We have 5 RV hook-ups, so can accept toy haulers, at 55.00 per night.

Once again Birch Lodge does not disappoint! Thank you so much to our hosts Klaus and Dianne for making us feel so at home. The cottage is so well equipped and comfortable. The guided tours were amazing!! We will see you again.

Here are some pics from our weekend trip. Friday 170km. and Saturday 124km. And Sunday was cancelled due to thumb surgery! Due to the rain recently the trails had lots of mud and water....so a fun time was had by all. We are doing another one on the 19th and 20th of Sept.

I thought the guide was joking when he said 170 km....but he does not joke!

Labour day weekend, 3 guided trips, Friday, leaving Birch Lodge, to Iron Bridge, from there to Williams Lake, taking the hydro line to Elliot Lake, from there taking the gas pipeline back to Birch Lodge. Saturday the 5th, from Birch Lodge to Iron Bridge, from there to Kynoch, and from there we will drive 80 km. between the 546 and the 129, between Wakomata Lake and Endikai Lake, and coming back the same way to Birch Lodge. Sunday the 6th, from Birch Lodge, to hwy 17 , following the hydro line to Spragge, from there taking the old "D" trail to Elliot Lake, having something to eat at Timmies or McDonalds, coming back over the gas pipeline to Birch Lodge. For those who like mud, Sundays trip is for you! there is a 3 km bog, you can go around it, our through it...fun stuff!

Then taking Williams lake rd,... to the hydro line, then Pepler rd. to Endikai lake, and scouting out a couple of new trails there. Coming back over the D134 to Williams lake rd.
