Birth Nerd Doula

I'm heading into the 3rd trimester in a few short weeks! Lots of body discomforts have been popping up so I have been doing the Spinning Babies Daily Essentials video. The video gives you poses to stretch out all the bits that need to be stretched and it encourages your baby get into the best position for an easy labour. I'm lovin' it for relaxing and hoping it's doing some good.

I hate being asked to rate my pain on a scale of 1 to 10. Maybe if they showed you this it would be easier!

This article has been on my mind. I was horrified to see doulas mentioned as part of this circle of "birth shame" since I was trained in and believe in non-judgmental support for all women's choices. Doulas are not just for "natural" births. In fact, the less "natural" your birth, the more you might want a doula - speaking from experience here!

I really related to this comic about how overwhelming it can be to become a mom. It's so weird! "Every single human life is a result of a woman's incredible transformation & sacrifice."
