And Roset was still there ! After all these years. And the CIBC.
This is how Bishop Mountain PS looks today. Pretty much like it always did, except for no fence at the front and some blue and yellow pavement paint.
I dropped by Bishop Mountain Public School while visiting Sillery and was completely astounded by a stone outer wall inside the school. The long hallway with Grades 2 to 7, was now beginning with an original outer wall of stone and church window type windows. Lovely people now working there took me around and showed me all the changes. They had discovered this outer wall when they went to put a door through to what was our Grade 1, from the main hallway. (The door to Grade 1 had always been from the old section, around the corner.)
From Robert Henvell Butcher: When the scribe enrolled in Bishop Mountain School in the autumn of 1939, there were seven grades in one class room.It was the front building of the present structure.
