I am just delighted to announce that I have appointed the Reverend Ian Mobsby to serve as diocesan canon theologian for mission. Canon Mobsby is currently Diocesan Assistant Dean for Fresh Expressions and Pioneer Ministry in the Diocese of Southwark, Chair of the Diocesan Spiritual Formation Group in Southwark, Interim Pioneer Rector of Christ Church (Southwark) and the Guardian of the New Monastic Society of the Holy Trinity. It’s great to be in partnership in the Gospel with Southwark in this way and wonderful to welcome Ian. He is a good friend to our diocese and we’re looking forward to all the gifts he’ll share with us in this role. He will be supporting the development of our Niagara School for Missional Ministry, an initiative of our Diocesan Mission Action Plan.

Yesterday at our synod, I was delighted to name the following priests as honourary canons of Christ's Church Cathedral: - Mike Deed, Rector of St. James, Dundas and our diocesan liturgical officer; - Leslie Gerlofs, Rector of St. John’s, Burlington and our diocesan Revive Coordinator; and - Paul Walker, Rector of St. John’s Elora.... We are so blessed by their faithful example and by their outstanding service to our diocese!
