Dental offices in Nova Scotia will be authorized starting June 5 to provide emergency and urgent dental treatment in our clinics. We will be open starting June 9 from 8-4pm for emergency treatment, and every Tuesday and Friday until June 19 when our hours and operations will return to normal! While dental offices have always followed strict infection control guidelines, we will be following additional protocols identified by the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia an...d in collaboration with Public Health. What’s the difference between emergency, urgent, and non-urgent dental treatment? Dental emergency: potentially life-threatening conditions which require immediate treatment. Urgent dental care: conditions that require immediate attention to relieve severe pain and/or risk of infection. We would like to officially welcome Dr. Farha Sardar to our practice! Farha is a dental graduate from the University of Toronto and a former Dental Officer with the Canadian Armed Forces. She moved to Halifax with the Canadian Armed Forced in 2012 and fell in love with the Maritimes. She, along with her husband and two children, has now chosen to make Halifax her home. Farha is passionate about Dental Sleep Medicine and has earned the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine Qualified Dentist status to provide patients with oral appliance treatment for snoring and/or obstructive sleep apnea. Outside of her enthusiasm for all aspects of clinical dentistry and patient care, she enjoys being involved in organized dentistry and spending quality time with her family.
