Ontario’s Optometrists still need you. #DYK optometrists subsidize more than half of the province’s eye care system at a cost of $173 million a year? Then COVID...-19 forced optometrists to close their doors. Chronic underfunding coupled with the impacts of COVID-19 (patient volumes reduced by 50%) means optometry practices are significantly struggling to survive. Help optometrists advocate for a long term solution that protects patients and public health. Add your voice by sending a letter to your MPP. Use our template letter at https://saveeyecare.ca/
When you crack the code, you have to go to saveeyecare.ca... we don't make the rules Remember having to press one key a million times to type a letter? So glad we evolved past that! Now, optometrists need your help doing the same thing with Ontario's eye care system.
No more fog! Are you one of the many Canadians wearing extra PPE during this time? Are your glasses fogging up constantly, interfering with your ability to see out of your glasses? New to our office, the perfect SOLUTION for you! It has been an absolute hit with our staff! A quick wipe to your glasses or goggles and no more fog for 48-72 hours! Call to reserve yours, limited quantities, these will go quick! 519-290-3937
Ontario’s optometrists are launching an urgent appeal to the Ontario government to end the 30-year neglect in funding for eye care. This chronic underfunding, coupled with the devastating impact of COVID-19 on optometrists’ ability to see patients, threatens Ontarians’ access to these essential health services. Please visit https://saveeyecare.ca to learn how you can take action to help save eye care.
Drs. Brant, Khanna & Thornton and team are excited to announce that we are open for routine care starting June 8th! We have put a variety of new protocols in place to maximize your safety and optimize your experience with us. All staff will be wearing appropriate PPE, and we will be limiting the number of patients in the office to allow for social distancing. All equipment and high-contact surfaces will be thoroughly disinfected throughout the day. All visits to our office will be BY APPOINTMENT ONLY (this includes glasses pickups, frame adjustments, and repairs). Please be patient with us as our first priority will be rescheduling all patients who were cancelled during the last few months. We look forward to seeing you at our clinic again!
As you may have heard, The Chief Medical Officer of Health has amended Directive #2 so that health care providers, including optometrists, can begin a gradual return to non-urgent care. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the safety of our patients and staff is of utmost importance to us. We are busy putting some new office procedures in place to maximize patient safety and optimize your experience with us. At this time our optometrists are still only seeing their existing patients for urgent/emergency care, but we plan to open again soon!
To our patients: We’ve missed you! As part of Ontario’s Phase 1 of its framework to reopen business in Ontario, we will be open for RETAIL SERVICES ONLY on TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS from 9:00 am 1:00 pm BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. These services include replacing and repairing broken glasses. Please note that you can reorder your contact lenses through our website (www.bktoptometry.ca). Our team members will be wearing appropriate PPE and we will be maintaining social distancing and... disinfection protocols. If you have a clean mask at home, we ask that you bring it with you to wear while in our office. Please call our office at 519-290-3937 or email us at [email protected] to set up your appointment. Please note that our optometrists are still seeing their existing patients for EYE EMERGENCIES ONLY, as directed by the Minister of Health. No routine or non-urgent eye examinations are taking place at this time. If you are experiencing an eye emergency, please call 519-290-3937 and leave a detailed message with your name, phone number and symptoms and your call will be returned Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. If you have an eye emergency outside of these hours, please call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000 for further instructions. We hope you are all staying safe and we look forward to seeing you back in the office soon! Drs. Brant, Khanna & Thornton and Team
