Happy Family Day Bellowheads! Quick update on the impending Red Zone changes. As always, the bottle shop is open daily from 12-6pm and free local delivery is offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We’re going to hold off from reopening indoor dining for now. We’d like to see how the loosened restrictions play out over the next month. Constant opening and closing takes a toll so we want to feel confident that it’s gonna stick for the sake of our staff and community. We’re also working on some exciting new developments in the kitchen. Can’t wait to share what we have planned for Spring and Summer! Stay safe, and FORGE AHEAD!

Black Bellows’ Boxing Week Beer Bonanza !! // We have THREE brand new beers for your Boxing Week enjoyment, including our dark and decadent ‘Potency’. This 11% Baltic Porter is an absolute beast of chocolate, toffee, and tobacco. Our new ‘Stones’ foeder-aged Saison, brewed with over 700 pounds of apricots, is fruit-forward and dry with subtle layers of flavour. Finally our new ‘Glint’ table beer is a perfect light Saison, ideal for refreshing after a snowshoe out on the escarpment or an especially strenuous shovelling session . Almost seltzer-like, it’s been gently dry-hopped to bring out its bright and vibrant lemongrass + melon character. PUMPKIN CONTEST ALERT With Halloween a few short days away, it’s time to get serious about your carving skills. We will award one Free Appetizer to anyone who brings in a carved pumpkin between today and Halloween night (limit one per person). Black Bellows Nominated for Provincial Heritage Award! The Black Bellows Brewing Company located at 40 Simcoe Street in Collingwood, has been nominated for the ...Paul Oberman Adaptive Reuse award by the Collingwood branch of the Architectural Conservancy Ontario. The ACO, whose main office is located in Toronto, takes nominations from throughout the province to recognize and support heritage projects, leaders and communities. Winners will be announced online throughout the month of October. The last local building to receive a provincial heritage award was the Tremont for its restoration in 2010. The repurposing of the Dey’s buildings for the Black Bellows Brewing Company makes it an outstanding nominee for this award.

Oktoberfest is finally here! Starting today, you can join in on all the Bavarian themed fun with steins of our newly released fest bier and a new fall menu to match! Our long anticipated fest bier is a pale German lager with emphasized grainy sweetness over hop bitterness, yet keeps enough hop aroma and bitterness to balance the beer. This fest bier pairs perfectly with pretzels, bratwurst and sauerkraut! For a limited time, you can purchase steins of our fest bier and pair it with bratwurst poached in our own fest bier with housemade sauerkraut, and a pretzel with housemade mustard made with our own Kink schwarzbier!

Behind the scenes of brewing a crisp batch of our flagship Belgian Witbier Peter is seen here sampling the gravity of the wort as he runs it off to the kettle. This is how we control sugar content of the wort in the kettle. During fermentation, yeast eat the sugar and create alcohol in the delicious final beer!

Artist spotlight! At Black Bellows a huge part of our mission is forging ahead into the creative unknown. Helping lead the charge is our head art collaborator and contributor, Laura Kikauka. Representing the Meaford-via-Berlin art scene, her work encompasses many forms of art including photography, video, installation, text, costume creations and many more. Laura’s ‘excessive aesthetic’ is comparable to urban archeology and addresses issues of consumer culture, and the qu...estion of good and bad taste. In our space, you can find numerous pieces by Laura including her Toy Tower, Beer Poetry paintings, and Antler Snowmobile that add colour, quirk, and psychedelic flare to our space.
