Blackberry Hollow Tack Trunks

One of the nice features of a Blackberry Hollow Mounting Block is that it is weather resistant because it is constructed entirely of aluminum and plastic. And NOW, using a recently developed plastic sheet, we are able to make them 1/2 the weight of the older ones. And, they come in all colors. LET US MAKE ONE FOR YOU.

A customer asked me if I could make a tack locker with an opening top, so,as one of my my motos is, "if you can describe it I can build it" here is one of the most recent lockers I built. The top opens to reveal a mirror and whiteboard(and anything else you want to attach to it). In addition you can divide the top space into smaller compartments for things like spurs, helmet, etc.

Were off to another exciting day at the Tbird horse show.

After a recent number of saddle thefts at shows (some during the day) I wondered what could be done to prevent them. As you can appreciate it can be devastating. Would be thieves observe which tack rooms are vacant and it only takes a matter of a few seconds and your 8 thousand dollar saddle is gone. Just imagine getting your horse all tacked up for a class and your saddle is missing. Of course one answer is to always lock your saddle in your tack box when not in use but t...his can be very inconvenient. And for trainers who ride multiple horses and have multiple saddles it is unrealistic to do. So I have developed a "saddle only" locker (the one in the picture holds 3 saddles but bigger and smaller ones are possible) The key to this is the fact it has an electronic lock that uses a 4 digit code. Put in the code and the door opens. To lock it simply press the "lock" key. What could be more simple and fast. You have to hang the saddle on a rack of some sort anyway and this locker makes it extremely easy to use. No keys to loose, no combination locks to spin. You can give the code to whomever needs it and you can change the code whenever you want to.And you can "chain" the locker to the stall so the locker cannot be removed either. One of my mottos at Blackberry Hollow Tack Trunks is "if you can describe it I can build it". And so, when a customer asked me if I could build a tack locker with an "opening top" I , of course, said yes. And it has turned out to be a very popular tack locker, Not only do you have the convenience of drawers and hangers to help keep your tack, saddles, and other horse related items well organized and secure but, with an opening top, you have the added convenience of a place for a mirror, white board and a host of other small, easily accessible items. So, if you are tired of alway rummaging around in your trunk for that item you "knew you had but can't find" pehaps its time to move up to a tack locker which not only helps you be organized but almost forces you to do so.

Recently a young lady asked me to build a "topper trunk" to match the locker she bought from me a couple of years ago. The topper is for blankets, saddle pads and sheets and the front lifts up and is held open (or closed) by a gas shock. It sits on rubber feet and is easily removed for transporting. I asked her to send me a picture and when I saw it I thought WOW-what a cool looking setup. I think you will agree. I can make these "toppers" for different size lockers as well.
