Black Cat Kitchen 24.10.2021

Dear Customers, It's time for an update! My plan was to start offering specials again in May, but I'm still slogging my way through the plant-based chef's course that I'm enrolled in, and it's taking up all my extra time and energy. I am choosing to prioritize culinary school at the moment, but I do hope to be back for at least a few specials later in the summer, after I graduate. I will keep you posted. Being plant-based doesn't mean that you have to miss out on your favourite foods! As part of Algoma Trad's upcoming Spring Online Learning and Sharing Program I will be teaching some new recipes and techniques that will demonstrate how delicious, healthy and appealing a plant-based diet can be. Classes are Thursday evenings and run from March 18th until April 8th. Students will be provided access to the recipes in advance. Join me for this "What I Eat in a Day" themed month of classes! This week's special is full of fragrant spices like cardamom, turmeric, and curry, and little surprises like chick peas, black currants, cashews, scallions and mint. Give our Curried Cauliflower Coconut Fried Rice a try! It's topped with a delicious Cardamom-Lime Yoghurt sauce, and is vegan AND gluten-free. Single and Family Sizes available. The Hilton Beach Public Library has some lovely plant-based cookbooks available to borrow. I cook from these regularly - just purchased the new one last week! Some of my best tried-and-true recipes come from the Oh She Glows books.
