We are fighting with mud and water today. There is a forecast for a lot of rain starting Monday so it is time to push hard.

Replacing the canvas on our combine header today. Lots of preventative maintenance before the next harvest run on soybeans.

Back straight cutting our canola today. This is a first for us and we are very happy with the results.

Today we had Megan, Amanda, Warren and Simon working in the field. This is truly a family farm!

Tiny kernels are starting to form in the wheat heads.

Protecting the crop from fusarium, a disease that infects the seed head. Fusarium can reduce milling quality and create unwanted toxins in the seed.

It is time to protect the crop from disease.

Our farm name comes from the creek that meanders through the centre of the farm. This is a great sanctuary for birds, deer, skunks and mosquitos (unfortunately.)

Controlling the weeds in this field of wheat. Did you know that weeds can reduce our production by 30%!

The last field of canola is underway. The seed is placed about 1/2 inch in the soil. With a bit of luck it will emerge in 7 days. #XVcanolaOil

All of a sudden the sky went dark as a cloud of dust covered the sun. This is a first in my lifetime, and I hope to never see it happen again. It can take one day to lose an inch of topsoil, but over 500 to replace it.

Planting canola today. Some will be in dry soil, so let's hope it rains May long weekend!
