Xylitol, a common chemical food additive, is used by a number of product manufacturers as a sugar replacement. Xylitol, however benign for human, cat, and ferre...t consumption, is extremely dangerous if ingested by canines. Meet Sophie and her babies! Sophie is a very good mom, with a wonderful owner, who has 3 healthy, roly poly pups! Sophie’s body has been working very hard to give these pups the milk they need and she developed a condition called Eclampsia. Eclampsia occurs when Calcium levels in the body become too low and is quite common in nursing dogs, especially small breeds. It is treated with supplemental Calcium which we gave Sophie by mouth and intravenously this evening. Thankfully after a few hours in the hospital Sophie was feeling much better and her and the pups were on their way home! This was them having a little snack before they left! If you have a nursing mom at home, or are planning on breeding your dog, ask your vet for the best way to keep mom healthy and happy during pregnancy and while she’s feeding her hungry babies!

Hi friends. It is with much sadness that we have to let you all know that a client of ours brought a kitten in to us this afternoon, and the little one had crossed the rainbow bridge :( It was a little boy who was a sandy/orange color. He was about 3-4 months old by our guess. He was found in a yard on Coachill St, here in Blackfalds. ... If you or anyone you know is missing their little guy please give the clinic a call during regular business hours. We are so sorry we have to report this. Take care all.
