November 11, Remembrance Day, is the designated day to remember and thank our war veterans and those who did not make it home, as well as those who are in the military right now. But, no matter the day, we will always remember and honour our family and friends who served, who passed away, and who are in service today. The Siksika Nation and the Blackfoot Confederacy as a whole are home to many people who have been in service to Canada during times of conflict over the last ce...ntury. Pictured below is Lillian Royal, Clarence Sr 'Agar' Wolfleg, and Andrew White Pup - just a handful of those from Siksika Nation. There are many others known across our local community. Please feel free to share with us the names and/or photos of Blackfoot (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Amskapi-Piikani) veterans or those currently in service that are a part of your family and friends. Thank you to Clarence Agar Wolfleg for the photo and the video (in previous post) that he provided for Blackfoot Crossing. Thank you to the Munro Family for the photos of Lillian and Andrew, as shared by a Blackfoot Crossing staff member.

Our official statement regarding Chief Crowfoot's place on the Bank of Canada's shortlist of candidates for the next portrait on Canada's $5 bank note. Such exciting news to hear that Chief Crowfoot is one of eight nominees! #blackfoot #siksika #indigenous #canada
