As we've posted a couple of times, we cannot take any more group lunch bookings. We were sold out today and we are sold out tomorrow. Sorry, but our kitchen has its limits.

The soup today is beef barley and the lunch special is a bbq chicken Caesar wrap with fries and soup. Check out our nightly specials: chicken stuffed with roasted red peppers, goat cheese and spinach, topped with a light cream sauce or our smothered chopped sirloin. Both come with soup, and your choice of two sides, all for just $15.95. Tonight is also wing night. Pound of wings, anyway you like them for just $6.95. The wing special is eat-in only.

As per usual, we are closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day. We will be open on Sunday, December 27 from 9:00 - 1:30 for takeout. Starting December 28, we will be open from 11:00- 6:30 for takeout Monday through Friday and from 9:00 - 6:30 on Saturday and Sundays. We will offer our full menu this time around, as well as specials. Update to follow. Pickups will revert back to the pub entrance during the lockdown to make it easier getting in and out. Takeout only can be quit...e busy at times so we will not be allowing walk-ins due to covid space restrictions. Please call ahead. For New Year's Eve, we will still offer our multi-course meal, but it will be for takeout only from 5:00 - 7:00. Anyone that was booked for dine-in, that wants to switch to takeout will be given first consideration. Best of luck to all of us moving forward. Will there be another soup kitchen? As of this printing, we are uncertain. It has been discussed and the need will likely be there, so it is a possibility.

We will announce our intentions after the official announcement tomorrow. We see that City News released news of a province-wide lockdown.

The pub and new takeout area are open. Takeouts are now picked up at the front door (literally, at the front of the building and the downtown sidewalk). The pub seats 28 now, along with 42 on the dining room side, puts us a bit closer to our old capacity. The patio is still open and will remain open until the weather turns nasty. The wall in the pub is a work in progress and should be finished by the weekend. There will be no seating at the bar at this point, but we hope to change that in the near future. An official post will follow but here are the basics for the month of October. We will continue to feature the pickerel due to its popularity. Our second special will be a traditional turkey dinner with mashed, stuffing, (choice of butternut squash or corn), turkey, cranberries, gravy, and a piece of pumpkin pie (or apple or pecan) all for $14.95. Also, for the month of October we are doing a WMHA fundraiser, featuring our 3 piece chicken dinner. This special will sell fo...r $15.00 (taxes included) and $6.00 for every meal sold will go to Minor Hockey. When ordering, say you want the Minor Hockey special. It will be available 11-7, seven days a week for the month of October, and perhaps beyond. Enjoy a good meal and help a great cause. Lastly, we will be doing turkey family pack meals like we have done in the past. Everything is bulk packed in trays for 8-12 people at $12.00 per person. Thanksgiving for most families will be impossible because of the 10 person limit. One solution is restaurants. Restaurants do not have the same restrictions. Our restrictions are based on social distance seating and your social bubble, allowing us to seat more people together. Just a thought. We will be offering a traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings as one our our specials for October.

The last time we were preparing for renovations, Covid hit. This weekend, we are doing some kitchen renos and putting up a takeout wall in the bar. Most other renovations will wait until spring. Our back deck is tired and needs to be replaced. The bar is due for a change up as well. Let's see how Covid plays out this fall and winter and we will make plans for some changes in the spring. Speaking of the deck, we will leave it open for as long as the weather is reasonable. Many folks have no desire to eat indoors.
