Don’t let anyone tell you a single-cab truck can’t slap super hard! Big update today: we got the ported sub box all dialed in now and picked up a nice T-Spec 3 farad capacitor for the setup. Originally this setup was sucking too much juice for the alternator to handle, so this is a good time to address something many overlook; power. The factory alternator for this 20 year old truck put out 105 amps and the sub amp ALONE draws 100 amps at peak. That being said we ripped it o...ut and swapped it with a killer 260 amp alternator from Windsor Powerhouse. After that was done we did the big 3 upgrade and floated all the cables and made them permanently separated. This setup is absolutely crushing for a single cab truck and was all designed to fold back up stealthy for parking overnight etc. There’s still some trim to be customized and installed but that will be another update along with an alarm install at some point. Working on that fibre optic deck install on this pretty 2008 Cayman S

Little bit of an update for that JL subs mail day post! I extended the end of a box for amp clearance (center of box needed to empty for this install) and ran the lines to test. This box was previously customized to be ported and it was not enough air space for the subs to perform properly. I will be removing the added port and enclosing this box back to factory and that will achieve the subs needed air space for an enclosed situation. Updates to follow!... Edit: this JL amp absolutely slaps it’s just older so has some scratches on front face.

Can’t wait to do this deck swap for a fibre optic system in a 2008 Porsche Cayman S. Even Alexa built-in. Gonna be so nice!
