Maple syrup for daysss! Lovely weekend of #mapleinthecounty Spring is upon us! Ice is melting, maple syrup is flowing! Which made us wonder..who was the first person to decide, let’s tap a tree?! Legend has it...one beautiful Spring morning after Chief Woksis yanked his tomahawk from the tree where he threw it the night before, the tree’s sap filled a container standing near the trunk. Thinking it was plain water, his wife used it to cook their evening meal in it. The water had boiled to syrup and a maple infused meal was served that night!
