Black River Stables 04.10.2020

Hahaha happens to us all the time! Don’t worry Quest is just napping!

Black River Stables 15.09.2020

NEW! Black River Stables now has a large 30m x 60m outdoor sand ring! Also a spacious tack/feed room with large private tack lockers and a lounge area! Boarding Available - Black River Stables currently has 1 spot open for board. (Option 1 available only, please see the bottom of the post to see what option 1 includes!) BRS is a family-owned private facility ideal for those who enjoy casual riding and trails. It is located in Garnett Settlement, 5 minutes from the Saint John ...Airport, 25 minutes from Hampton, 20 minutes from central Saint John and 20 Minutes from Rothesay. BRS has 20 acres of well kept, on property trails that also connect to lots more. BRS has a large, outdoor ring with access to jumps and a couple cross country jumps. We also have a river which is great for splashing around in on summer days and after rides. Boarders have access to a set of indoor cross ties, as well as an outdoor area for tacking up. The outdoor area includes a set of cross ties, 2 hitching posts, 2 saddle racks and 2 hooks for bridles/halters, etc. There is a large tack room/lounge available to borders with their own private tack lockers and saddle racks. Horses are turned out 24/7 (except for bad weather) with access to roughage, salt/mineral lick and water (stock tank heated in the winter). In the summer the horses are rotated between 2 grass fields, and in the winter they are fed good quality round bales. (Hay is rolled off bales inside hay barn and fed twice daily to insure horses aren’t over eating/wasting) Horses have access to a 50ft x 10ft run-in shelter for protection from the elements. There are 2 options for board: Option 1 currently available. Option 2 is currently full. Option 1 includes a 9ft x 11ft indoor stall, inside of our 4 stall barn. Each stall has a grain bucket, water bucket and a salt lick holder, as well as 2 hooks outside of the stall for halters and lead ropes. Horses will be kept in their stalls during bad weather, and will be brought inside to be fed. Option 2 has no access to an indoor stall, however they do have access to the temporary 10ft x 10ft outdoor stalls which are put up only during bad weather in the run in shelter. Horses will be fed outside. Horses are fed twice daily. Blanket changes will be provided, as well as fly mask changes in the summer. Barn owner lives on property. Option 1 - 350$/month Option 2 - 325$/month Grain and supplements are extra for both options. This ensures that borders aren’t paying extra for grain that their horses aren’t eating. Please message us if you are interested. You can also email [email protected] or text (506) 639-8747. (Please be sure to only text this number, as cell phone service is hit or miss and I would not want to miss your call)

Looking for an on-property leaser! Tessa is a 21yo QH Arab mare who has successfully competed at 2nd level dressage and proven she’s still got it! Not only is... she a queen in the sand ring but she’s a pleasure to hack alone or with a friend! She can really do it all (no jumping please, she doesn’t particularly enjoy it) I’m looking for someone who is interested in coming out 2-3 days a week and enjoy her. Tessa is located at black river stables, about 5 minutes past the Saint John airport. There is a field to ride in and an arena in the works as well as 20+ acres of trails for you to enjoy, including the river! For more details or any questions please message me

Due to reports of an outbreak of Strangles in Southern New Brunswick and P.E.I., please keep contact with horses to a minimum. For the next month, please touch only horses you are required to touch (i.e. your horse only), especially if you have been at other farms in the past few weeks. Please carefully wash your hands and wash/change clothes after visiting horses. Vets recommend showering between barn visits and doing a complete change of clothes and shoes. Sanitization of... footwear is recommended. Strangles is a very serious equine illness and is exceptionally contageous. It is especially dangerous for young and old horses. Our horses are currently all happy and healthy, thank-you for helping us keep it that way.

Horsey friends! Would you be interested in buying this bib/Dickie combination with a stock tie? Great alternative to wearing a show shirt on hot summer days!! Would be available in fun and conservative colours with a possibility of custom orders depending on fabric availability.
