As the door closes on 2020, it was certainly not the year we all expected or wanted however there were many bright moments and those should be celebrated! From all of us at Black Rock Oceanfront Resort we wish all of you the very best for the coming year! 2021 is looking brighter all the time and we look forward to the time when we are able to welcome with open arms team members and guests from all corners of the globe. Please note that our Big Beach Bar & Lounge hours for December 31, 2020 will be: Food Service: 11:30am - 9:00pm... As per the Temporary Public Health Order we will cease liquor sales at 8:00pm. December 30, 2020 URGENT UPDATE: The public health officer held an update today and in her announcement made an update that affects our industry. FESTIVE FEW Plan in place FOR NEW YEARS EVE: December 31, 2020 all alcohol sales must end at 8pm on New Years Eve. Revision of the Food and Liquor serving establishments as well as retail sales (cold beer and wine, grocery, wineries, breweries, cideries and distillers). Liquor sales must cease at 8pm on December 31, 2020 until 9am January 1, 2021. Restaurants are able to stay open with meal service as per the current order (with no alcohol served after 8pm. Pubs and bars must close by 9pm).

The ocean is an unpredictable force and although we love Storm Watching, this weekend King Tides are expected through the dates of November 14 to 17. What does this mean? An alert for extreme high tides has been issued. High winds, wave hazards, and ocean surges, can also lead to coastal flooding and debris along the beaches. Please practice #CoastSmart and stay off the coastal rock bluffs, watch for advisories issued by the Pacific Rim National Park, ask for a Tide Guide so you can be aware of the tidal clock, and never turn your back on the ocean. Explore with a partner and stay safe!

We have had questions about our pool and hot tub(s) being open. Yes, they are open, for Spa guests of the Resort. The choice to limit use to guests of the Spa only, is to manage traffic and reduce exposure in respect to social distancing guidelines. The Drift Spa is open 7 days a week; you can find hours and servicing on our website; link in bio. Thank you for your continued understanding!
