Today marks the one year anniversary of Black Rock Therapies being in our new clinic here in Gasoline Alley Centre West. The day we were to open last year was the same day we closed down due to Covid19. For the first three months that we were in our new location, we did not open our doors nor did we see any clients. We did what we could to support our community, our clients and our Black Rock therapists and staff from a distance. Our Mission Statement is; To Help Our Client...s Do More Of What They Love To Do. How do we accomplish this? All of our therapists have a calling and a purpose to help each client they see with this one goal in mind; Relax, Repair and Restore each client we have the privilege to treat. It is through helping your body relax from the daily stresses and repair itself from the physical or emotional traumas that your body will restore some of the movement it has lost over the years. Being a small business owner is a very unique calling. Under normal circumstances, it is a calling that comes as a roller coaster ride. Every day we ride the emotional roller coaster of highs and lows. This last year has been beyond words and comprehension but there has been one PHRASE that has gone through my mind nearly every day this year. THIS! has inspired me to keep going and stay the course STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS. What does this phrase mean to me? It means that I am lifted up and motivated to keep going by all the amazing ‘giants’ who make up our awe-inspiring team at Black Rock Therapies. Because of each and every one of them, Black Rock Therapies is what it is today. Debbie and I want to publicly say THANK YOU to our team for letting us help you do more of what you love to do. With the announcement yesterday of continued restrictions we are pleased to update that we are still open, but only for massage. A valid Dr’s prescription issued in the last 13 months, (did you have one you submitted for insurance? Contact them for a copy) or a referral letter from a regulated healthcare professional. Do you know someone who is one of those ? A friend,a friends daughter/son a neighbour? Here is a quick easy list of who can do this letter. Please don’t think you have to cancel your appointment there are lots of options and,with no indication as to when this requirement will be removed it’s important to keep yourself healthy now. Relax. Repair. Restore. It’s what we do at Black Rock Therapies.

You may feel your sympathetic nervous system kick in with rapid breathing or short shallow breaths, clenching teeth or holding it all in. Our bodies and breath can tell us a lot about our nervous system and how we maybe be feeling. Checking in regularly with your breath can help you reset from a busy day or stressful situation, stay calm, bring your heart rate and blood pressure down. And even take you out of pain. ... 1:2 Breathing protocol: While INHALING will excite your sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight), EXHALING will stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) How to do the 1:2 ratio breathing: Sit or lay somewhere comfortable. Inhale deeply, through the nose, at a 2-3 second count. EXHALE through pressed lips at a slow but deliberate breath of 4 or 6 seconds. Do 5-8 reps Tips- make sure when inhaling the air goes all the way down into the bottom of your core allowing ribs, diaphragm and belly and low back to fill with air. Happy Canada Day

Hey everybody. We are back and working. Yay. Weve missed you all. Our front desk ladies have been busy since we opened Monday calling back clients that had appointments cancelled, they are still working on lists. If you had an appointment cancelled please be patient we will be in touch. We have new systems in place for all clients. New procedures will be sent via text link when you make your first appointment back to see us. This is a one time fill in form. We have moved t...o curb side check in,and ask that you arrive 10/15 mins before your appointment time. For this we request you stay in your vehicle, notify us via text on 5878020840 that you are here. We will text you a COVID-19 symptoms screening form. This form will need to be completed for every appointment. Please then wait until we ask you to enter the clinic. This is to allow us to ensure a smooth and social distance flow of clients coming in and out the clinic. Shoe removal and hand sanitizing is then required. We have also moved out new client intake form online along with our benefit assignment form. We are still able to direct bill, we can take debit,credit no problem. We would prefer not to take cash However if you do need to pay cash not a problem, however we are unable to offer change. Any change due will be placed on your account as a future credit. Great news was announced yesterday. Black Rock Therapies will be opening as of Monday June 15. We will be contacting clients that were scheduled to see us in the last 3 months. Please be patient we will get to you. We cant wait to see you all. We are so excited to be open at our new location in Gasoline Alley.
