Thank you so much for all your support of this year’s 2020 Bladder Cancer Canada Awareness Walk! Despite the ongoing need to stay close to home, hundreds of Canadians raised awareness and funds in support of Bladder Cancer Canada’s mission. Now is the time to celebrate our collective efforts! Join us on Wednesday, October 7th at 7pm ET (tonight!) for our online wrap-up celebration. Bladder cancer survivors, volunteers and physicians across Canada will share messages of grat...itude and you’ll learn more about the impact of your efforts. We’ll end with the great reveal the total amount we were able to raise! This event will be held as a YouTube premiere and the community chat will be enabled so you can join the celebration. You can participate using this link: https://youtu.be/VR8UFmTO-L4 Many thanks to our national media partners Corus Entertainment and Global News for producing tonight’s video segment. (To participate in the community chat, or leave comments, you will need to sign in to YouTube using your Google/Gmail account. When you leave your first comment, you will also be asked to agree to set up your own YouTube channel. As far as we can tell, this is just you agreeing to YouTube’s Terms of Service. When you setup your channel, YouTube will ask for your name. This is how you will appear in the comments and the chat. If you are concerned about your privacy, please use an alias.)

Bladder Cancer Canada’s One2One Peer Support Program has a significant positive impact on Canadians diagnosed with #bladdercancer. We are fortunate to have over 40 Peer Support Volunteers (PSVs) on our roster who are trained and can offer individual support by phone. However, we have a critical need for PSVs in the following categories: Caregiver/spouse/partner of bladder cancer patient/survivor Patient/survivor who has had a partial bladder resection ... Patient/survivor under the age of 40 Patient/survivor who has participated in a clinical trial Patient/survivor who was diagnosed with muscle-invasive bladder cancer, but still has their bladder intact Patient/survivor who has experienced sexual dysfunction Female patient/survivor with an illeal conduit (urostomy) If you’re interested in finding out more, please visit our website for more information or to fill out an application form: https://bladdercancercanada.org/en/volunteer/ Our National Program Director will connect with you within 1-2 weeks after receiving your application.
