We're tired. Most of us see sleep as "lost time", something we do because we have to, and not something that is of the utmost importance to our overall health and wellbeing. You might be coming off the holiday and New Year rush, staying up until the late hours binge watching The Office on Netflix before they remove it. But not to worry, in our latest edition of the Pursuit Coach Darryl has outlined some very useful tips to ensure you have an awesome nights rest. o Powe...r down your electronics 1 hour before you plan on going to bed. The blue light that our electronics produce can affect our sleep negatively. o Limit your exposure to rather emotionally stirring news. Maybe save the newest episode of the Bachelor until tomorrow. o Oddly enough, a sudden change in temperature can prime us for sleep. Maybe turn down your heat to save some money on your next heating bill. Click the link below to check out the winter edition of The Pursuit for some sleep tips and more! Also, if you haven't already, subscribe to our email list to be notified when the next issue of The Pursuit comes out! https://www.blendedathletics.com/the-pursuit-1

I do this for my own mental health (fitness). I get up in the morning and I’m a different person if I don’t get to the gym, so it’s really important to keep that positive energy. In this special episode @DaveRafuse sits down with MLA for the Timberlea Prospect region @IainRankin who is in the running to be the next leader of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party and Premier of Nova Scotia. Iain talks about how fitness has had a positive impact on his life and how he wants to focu...s more attention on preventative health and wellness measures for all Nova Scotians. He also highlights the importance of revamping the economy, investing in our long-term care facilities, Nova Scotia’s part in climate control, and building a stronger education system. Join us and listen to Iain’s story and vision for the Province of Nova Scotia. https://youtu.be/isgeMHlpX34

Eat More, Not Less. Nutrition challenges always focus on the BAD foods you are NOT ALLOWED to eat. No sugar, no cheese, no booze, no fun. This usually helps with short term results but it isn’t the best way to build a healthy relationship with food. For everyone focusing on NUTRITION for the Blended Athletics #BEBETTER... challenge, we will be focusing on what TO EAT and letting everything else shake out on it’s own. That’s right. For the #BEBETTER challenge, we are going to work on nutrition with absolutely zero focus on what NOT to eat. Instead, we are going to focus on what you SHOULD EAT, and *poof* - the rest will work itself out on its own! VEGGIES! For this challenge, the focus is to get a serving of vegetables with every meal. How much is a serving? We are keeping it SIMPLE. No measuring. No need to weigh your food. We are just aiming for a cupped handful with every meal. Swipe RIGHT for Tips and Tricks! #BEBETTER #LIVEBETTER #EATBETTER
