There are Winnipeggers sleeping outside in this cold. Call any of these numbers and see if there's a way you can help.

The Gifts of Grace Street Mission is assisting the Main Street Project in planning their biggest ever holiday donation drive. Please help us gather needed items so they can put together over 500 gift packages to ensure that each of our community members has their own gift to open the morning of December 25th. You can drop off items to the Parish Centre during regular office hours. Alternatively, you can drop them off anytime at 12 Chaucer Place (in the red bin at the front door).

ICYMI: Pope Francis met with NBA players to discuss social justice. Recently, the Pope released his latest encyclical Fratteli Tutti where he emphasizes that fraternity and social friendship are ways to build a better, more just and peaceful world. In it, he mentions that we have to propagate a "culture of encounter", where there is a dialogue across the boundaries of culture and faith through an open conversation - and here he is, leading by example. If you haven't read the encyclical yet, we highly encourage that you do so (you can read a free copy from the Vatican website). As Christians, we are invited to be torch-bearers of peace and joy in the world!

The Transcona Food Bank and the Gifts of Grace Street Mission are continuing to operate at this time and you can continue to support them by dropping off items at the Parish Centre during regular office hours. The collection boxes can be found upstairs in the hallway outside the office. At this time, the Gifts of Grace Street Mission is only able to distribute NEW socks, mitts and toques, as they have had to stop their meal program for now. The Transcona Food Bank continues to rely on donations of non-perishable food items.
