As many of you already know, my daughter Carissa fights with Stage 4 Lymphedema every day of her life for the past 14 years. At this time there is not medical coverage for treatments so there is a petition that has just launched fo approve treatments for Lymphedema be covered under medical. I’ve been thinking about this extraordinary woman a lot over the past few days leading up to this incredible day worthy of celebrating! In 1955, at the young age of 16 (yes, 16!), she made a decision to start a company that would go on to impact thousands of lives and families along the way. I wonder if she knew the ripple effect that her decision to break the mold of the stereotypical 1950’s housewife would have in the years to come. ... I’ve wondered if she knew then that her decision would offer generations of women the opportunity to make different decisions for their family. One of my favorite moments so far in my short time with Park Lane was the incredible honour and privilege to join Shirley and the Levin family for a private luncheon ! To see the legacy of what this incredible woman envisioned 65 years ago before my eyes was truly inspiring This weekend, Park Lane Jewelry celebrates 65 years.
