We are here to support all of the parents as they navigate this school year, not matter what it may look like for each of you.
Our child’s reactions to situations are often shaped by our behaviors and emotions; they take their cues from us. . This graphic give some easy, creative ideas ...for helping our children adjust to having and wearing masks, especially if they are required in school or public transportation/ facilities. . The 3 R's will be extra important for all of us this fall with return to school during a pandemic. We're here to support parents, children & educators.
Looking forward to seeing you soon, in the meantime here's a fun idea!
We've just opened up online booking for Occupational Therapy sessions this fall. Clinic-based Play Therapy sessions have already started this summer. We look forward to supporting your family as we navigate summer & back-to-school this fall.
We are pleased that the federal government has finally agreed to provide some financial relief to Canadians with disabilities. Read more: https://inclusionalber...ta.org//federal-government-to-provi/ **EDIT: We received the following letter from the Minister of Community and Social Services confirming that the payment does not need to be reported as I come to AISH. "As you know, the Government of Canada recently announced a one-time, tax-free, non-reportable payment of $600 to assist with pandemic-related expenses. Details of full eligibility requirements and distribution timing will be confirmed by the federal government. As this payment will be non-reportable income to the Canada Revenue Agency, it is automatically exempt as income for Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped recipients. I am pleased to inform you that Community and Social Services is exempting this future payment as income for Expected to Work and Barriers to Full Employment clients of the Income Support program. This means that benefit levels and eligibility for clients of either program will not be affected by the payment. Our government is proud to work with the disability community to ensure vulnerable Albertans are safe and supported during this pandemic. Sincerely, Rajan Sawhney Minister of Community and Social Services"
Really looking forward to learning from Kim Barthel through this online learning option. Timely & such an important topic to help support our children, our parents & our teachers this fall.
