Maggie wants to go from London to Toronto but she also wants to be very safe. By looking at the 1st picture I'm sure you need no explanation of the intricate project, as it's crystal clear. But just in case... the 2nd pictured explains it all!
We had such a great day tobogganing and warming up with a hot chocolate.
The smell of Fall is in the air and we had an amazing camp day! A hike through a wonderful arboretum, learning beneficial plants, poisonous berries and observing fantastic animals. We cooked lunch at our camp fire and everyone enjoyed a sweet smore done to perfection! Off to a great weekend until our next adventure! Cheers!
I picked up the kids today without the car, I said "we will walk" and everyone replied "oh no! We hate walking!" But then I took them to a wonderful place... to walk. And I said, if you don't like walking how are you going to feel the breeze on your cheeks, the smell of the forest, the colors of fall and the sound of nature? How are you going to enjoy the beauty that surrounds you and sets your mind right? And just like that, their little eyes started to pick gorgeous pictures... tiny plants, mushrooms, dozens of interesting formations and here were are, in a competition! Who's going to spot the most interesting and rarest thing ever seen?
It was very fun and interesting today. We discovered a fresh water spring and the kids were amazed how water comes from the earth. And because we were around the water we talked about one of our favorite trees: the willow. I showed them what part of the willow to use in tea when you have fever and we talked about how this was commonly used before tylenol was invented. We also tried to make a whistle out of a willow branch but ended up with a totem. Next time I think weaving a basket out of willow would be great. So many uses, such an amazing tree! After the "fun facts" we just monkeyed around and enjoyed the playground. Ahhh... the great outdoors!
Happy birthday J! We had lots of fun!
Mr Maker! Such a passion for building something with a purpose!
