Bloom Child & Family Therapy 19.10.2021

Welcome Olivia! Olivia is a Student Placement Intern at Bloom! Olivia is a Registered Social Worker and holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Renison University College. Olivia is currently completing her Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto, specializing in social work with children and their families. Olivia’s interest and expertise is in teaching children and youth socio-emotional skills and coping mechanisms, specifically for use in conflict resolution and ...in classroom settings. She has experience working with children, teens, and families from diverse backgrounds and has worked in community-based settings with newcomer families. She has worked with children struggling with emotional regulation, classroom stressors, depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, and autism. Olivia is passionate about supporting children and families as she also works as a Karate Instructor. In this role she fosters qualities of confidence, increased self-esteem, strength, and respect in children and teens. In every role she has, Olivia works from a framework of inclusion, respect, and trust. With her diverse background experience and passion for developing her skills as a social worker, she is excited to be a member of the Bloom Therapy team. We would like to welcome Kerry to the Bloom team! Kerry is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has worked for over 30 years with children, adults, and families in a variety of settings. Currently, Kerry works in the education sector supporting the mental health and well-being of students and school communities. ... Kerry specializes in working with individuals with anxiety and depression, addiction, trauma, ODD, ADD/ADHD, autism, grief and loss, anticipatory grief, as well as suicidal ideation. Kerry believes that relationship is the key to any successful therapy. She is passionate and non-judgemental. Kerry works from a strength based perspective that blends CBT, DBT, narrative and other evidence based approaches. She believes that in order to address unwanted behaviors we need to understand them and then search for healthy strategies to cope.
