Dear Friends, I’m reaching out to invite you to a complimentary virtual event and fundraiser that is being held by Dress for Success on October 14th from 12:00 to 1:00. As you know, Dress for Success is an organization that is near and dear to my heart, and I am also a proud Board Member. You've likely seen in the news and on social media stories about how the COVID-19 pandemic is disproportionately affecting women in the labourforce; there's worrisome employment data and ...rebound forecasting, and reports of a "she-cession". Starting from behind already, the gender gap will widen as the pandemic continues unless we come together now as a community to make sure women aren't left behind. I would be honoured if you would join me and Dress for Success Ottawa for this virtual panel and fundraiser event, Surviving & Thriving, that will explore these issues and tap into our pandemic experiences. It will be moderated by Dress for Success Worldwide CEO, Joi Gordon, with a great slate of panelists: Komal Minhas, Jennifer Robson, Lara Wellman and Jennifer Torbet. This is a free event, though we're hoping our attendees will be inspired to donate and help Dress for Success Ottawa recoup from the loss of in-person fundraising events this year.
